Another consistant week for the Vita with over 40,000 units shifted and nearly 25% market share.

This weeks Japanese sales are in and since this seems to be a regular feature for us now, I may as well keep reporting it.

As posted on 4 Gamer you can see that despite being outsold 2:1 by the 3DS (as it was last week) it managed to hit 41,073 units shifted, no doubt helped by the release of One Piece Pirate Warriors 2 which charted in 5th place overall with over 60,000 units (the PS3 version was second). This represents 24.6% of the market, with nearly 1 in 4 consoles sold being a Vita.

Elsewhere in the game charts we had Atelier Meruru 3 in tenth, Pro Baseball Spirits 2013 in eleventh, Soul Sacrifice still shifting units in 15th and Dead or Alive 5 plus hitting 17th.

With the Vita shifting around 200,000 units consistantly over 4 weeks, is this enough evidence to suggest a recovery? How much longer can Sony put off the price cut in the west? What do you think of this weeks sales?

  • They need another hit game release to keep the momentum up otherwise its going to drop again.

    • To be fair they hit 36 last week without one. 🙂

I like the numbers. The Vita really had a great month both in terms of hardware and software sold. Hopefully this marks the beginning of multiple months of the same.
