EA decides against making any new games featuring the online pass, which some considered a grey-market deterrent

According to an article on the site VentureBeat, EA is discontinuing the policy of adding online passes to new games.

“Yes, we’re discontinuing Online Pass,” EA senior director of corporate communications John Reseburg confirmed to GamesBeat in an e-mail. “None of our new EA titles will include that feature.”

A bit of welcome news, considering the fact that many like to buy titles used when they can’t afford the new copies. Here’s to hoping the other companies follow suit.
