Apparently someone wanted a CR App on their Vita, but that’s a bit extreme.

I’m not a massive fan on Anime. In fact I’m not a fan at all, but I know that many of you are, and that a service called Crunchyroll provides a lot of shows for you to watch. Those of you that are fans will be pleased to know that there is a Crucnchyroll app on the way for the Vita!

The official site stated:

In addition to word of seven new streaming anime shows, another piece of information struck at today’s Crunchyroll panel at Anime Expo 2013 LIKE A LIGHTNING BOLT. A Crunchyroll app for PlayStation Vita has officially been announced and is on its way!

Details regarding launch date and specs are still forthcoming, but rest assured, those of you who have been demanding Crunchyroll’s ever-growing library of anime and drama on your Vita…REJOICE! RELIEF IS ON THE WAY! Stay tuned to Crunchyroll News to release full details when they become available…

Keep in mind that the image below is NOT OFFICIAL but comes courtesy of CR user shinobicRyo who really really really wanted a CR app on his Vita. We sincerely hope he is dancin’ in the street now over the news. Dreams that you dare to dream really do come true!

So, is anyone excited for this? We will bring you more news as we have it.

I’d be hyped for this if it was going to work like their site does; unfortunately I’m betting we’re going to see most anime paywalled on the app, even though you can still watch free on their site.

I hope not, but I’m betting that’s the plan.

it is mostlikely, stares at the ios/android app.

Finally. this was announced ages ago, it seems. Oh well. i stopped watching anime ages ago. The last series I watched and enjoyed was Cowboy Bebop. Or was it Fooly Cooly? can’t remember which… There was definitely something after Outlaw Star and the Big O.

I would like to point out that I believe the PS3 version of Crunchyroll is only available in the US and Canada.

Unless they are planning a further expansion during the Vita release, it’s likely that it may not come to UK/Europe.

Shame this will be US only.

A crunchyroll would really hit tha spot right now. Nice and warm with some butter and maybe some jam…… tasty!

The app sounds pretty tasty in it’s own right too!

Very nice addition for the VITA’s beautiful screen.
