Batman Arkham Origins: Blackgate is a mouthful to say, but is a fun game to play. Getting a good ten minutes to play the game down in Seattle, I was able to play through a decent chunk of the tutorial.

Batman AOB is a 2.5D action platformer that takes game play from its console counterpart and gives it a new twist. You still get the same fighting mechanics that Arkham Asylum and City utilize and combat came very natural when I first started playing.

The few negatives I have for this game were minor – how slow Batman walked, and sometimes trying to activate things like crawling into a vent or use the grappling hook you would have to be lined up perfectly. This became frustrating, but I could see this being fixed very easily given the way the game is set up. The graphics look really good and I can’t wait to learn more about this game. Do not count this game out; Armature Studios knows what their doing.

Tyler Olthoff is a 24 year old who has been gaming since he can remember. In love with almost all types of games, the only type he can't stand (and that's probably because he sucks at it) is fighting games. His favorite genres would have to be shooters, RPGs, and adventure games. He owns almost every new system out there including PS4, PS3, XB1, PSVita and the 3DS, but barely plays any of them as it's mainly his good old Vita getting the attention!

Is it bad that I’m more excited about the Handheld game and not the Console/PC game it’s based upon? I’ll get both, because my love of Bat is that strong, but I have to say, this one piques my interest more. It’s the 2.5D metroid inspired gameplay that turns me on.
