  • There goes my money.

    • Brian Sharon

      You and me both brother-man!

  • Devin Hudson

Pretty much since I first got my Vita I’ve been saying I want bigger memory card sizes, so I’m glad this is finally happening. Not that I even have the money to throw down on one of these at the moment, but I’d definitely rather save up for it instead of buying a cheaper one now and still end up needing to buy another card later.

I kinda wish they had went up at least one size bigger (I think I’d be set for life with a 128GB card), but 64GB will definitely be fine for the foreseeable future. Now I just need to wait and see when these things are coming out in North America.

    • Jonathan Harding-Rathbone

Agreed. The price is ridiculous though. The new memory card is nearly half the price of the console….

      • Devin Hudson

Yeah, the pricing has always seemed too high for these things, even after the recent price cuts. I admittedly have no idea how much they cost to produce, but I think the fact that they’re proprietary probably has something to do with the high cost.

        • Jonathan Harding-Rathbone

Yeah but I really doubt they’re getting less than 100% profit at that price regardless when you look at normal micro SD prices.

          • Devin Hudson

Oh I fully agree with that. It’s essentially what I was trying to say in a roundabout way (I didn’t want to straight out say Sony is being greedy, but it seems to be the case). They’re overcharging for memory cards essentially because they can, since they’re the only ones making them.

          • Jonathan Harding-Rathbone

Which is exactly what they did in the psx and ps2 era until cheap copies came out. It’s one of those fairly standard practices that has always happened. I think also they have had to go down this route given how quickly the PSP was hacked. Still, it’s just one of those things we have to bite our lips and accept.

  • PrimevalPanda

To be fair when it comes out I will be getting it because even after taxes I will only have to shell out barely more than $90 for a new one. 🙂

  • ExcaliburEdge

I think the 64GB should suit my needs just right. I’ll be making the move as soon as I find a good deal.

  • They should really increase the app size from 100 to like 1000 with these 64GB cards now!

    • they did with the folder system 100 per page… 10 pages.

      • Kyle Wakeling

No, the limit is still 100 bubbles – the number of pages or folders are irrelevant as the bubble limit is still there.

        • that makes completely no sense what so ever why would you add a folder system but not expand the icon limit to go with it?

          • Kyle Wakeling

It was about organization, not expansion. Not an excuse, IMO – I happen to agree with you that the limit needs removing. I’ve got an 8GB card that at one time maxed out 100 bubbles, imagine how easy that’d be on this 64GB card… lol

  • Baran Altuncu

    Just what I wanted. 😀

  • Satu Patel

I have a 32GB mem card and have yet to fill it. Then again I never will because of the 100 icon limit. I have over 34 vita game carts (many imports) and some minis and PSP games, and I do not wish to delete anything only to play it at a later date with patches and updates.

  • Buckybuckster

Expensive as all get out but quite needed. Eh, my employee discount will knock off $10.

Maybe the next time Sony drops the price of memory will be our signal a 128 card is forthcoming?

  • Lester Paredes

I wish it weren’t so expensive. But, I knew video games as a hobby wasn’t going to be cheap going in way back when my parents were the one’s footing the bills. lol. I must have it!
