The question is whether it will reach our shores.

Dynasty Warriors, love it or hate it has seen countless sequels and spin-offs on numerous platforms, and the Gundam series has probably been the biggest recent offshoot.

Famitsu magazine announced the next title in the Gundam series will be exclusive to the Vita (and PS3) and will feature over a hundred playable suits. Polygon had the following to say about Namco Bandai’s upcoming title:

“Called Shin Gundam Musou in Japanese, the new title marks a return to a more realistic graphical style for the series after Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 3’s cel-shaded look. This will allow for things like spot damage on Mobile Suits, and you’ll get ample chance to see this in action, given that NBGI is planning for over 100 MS units to be playable between Official Mode (which recreates the original story from several Gundam anime) and Ultimate Mode (which features an all-new story).

New units include the RX-0 Banshee from Gundam UC and the GAT-X105 Strike Gundam and GAT-X202 Aegis Gundam both from Gundam SEED. In addition, Shin Gundam Musou will feature controllable Mobile Armors, mech units that are generally much larger than your typical MS unit.

The new Gundam game, currently pegged at 80 percent complete, is due out Dec. 19 in Japan. The PS3 version will cost 7980 yen (approximately $80), while the Vita game will go for 6980 yen (about $70).”

If we get more info we will let you know, and in the mean time look out for my Dynasty Warriors: NEXT review, coming soon!

I'm 27 years old, and have been playing games for 20 years now, ever since Sonic and Alex Kidd on the master system. I love most types of games but I have a particular passion for music games and racing games, though Final Fantasy VII is and probably always will by my all time favourite as it's the only computer game to ever make me cry!

more like mindless beat em up.

      • Mauricio Quintero

Do you know if it will have a VS mode? some sort like Custom Robo arena.

        • WhyWai

as far as I know, warriors games only have co-op mode, no versus.

  • Buckybuckster

Would be nice to partake in a little Gundam Style here in the west!

Wow… that pun was so painful, I had to laugh or else be poisoned by a toxic overdose from Anti-hillarium. Hillarium: a necessary nutrient for a long and healthy life.

      • Buckybuckster

Even more painful is the sad fact is that’s what I thought Psy was singing when I first heard the song! I was all like “A dance song about Gundams? Man he must really be a hardcore fan!” : )

        • Lester Paredes

Well, you weren’t alone with that initial assumption. lol. I’m afraid I too am guilty of thinking how awesome this gundam-style song was.

  • Lester Paredes

I sure hope it comes out here. I finally tried a Dynasty Warriors game (Next on Vita) and enjoyed myself. It was… relaxing. I wouldn’t mind bringing such carnage to the world of giant robots.

  • WhyWai

    Wow! Big Gundam fan here.
I was just wondering if there will be another Gundam Warrior not long ago… And here it comes.. Highly doubt Vita version will get localized after seeing One Piece Warrior only came on PS3….
Not that will stop me from importing the asia version…

    • Jonathan Harding-Rathbone

If it isn’t released in the UK there’s the possibility I may inport from review. It’s a shame it didn’t get localised but DW Gundam has been localised before on PS3 as I played it so fingers crossed!
