Publisher Aksys Games have officially announced that they will be bringing Compile Hearts‘ dungeon-crawler Holy Sorcery Story to the west under the title of Sorcery Saga: Curse of the Great Curry God.

Merging culinary arts with the magical; Sorcery Saga: Curse of the Great Curry God is a quirky rogue-like adventure.  Burdened with the task of cooking curry to save the world, players must delve deep into randomly-generated dungeons in search of ingredients.

Be forewarned that while the games characters and world may have a cute appearance, it is indeed a rogue-like experience. If you managed to fall in a dungeon, you will lose all your items, and moreover the dungeons you’ve explored will also in turn disappear.

Thankfully you are able to utilize a variety of recipes (spells) to aid you on your quest and hopefully prevent you from starting your journey all over again.

In addition Asksys have also unveiled a “Hot and Spicy, Everything Nicey Limited Edition” which comes with usable kitchenware that is inspired by Sorcery Saga.

No official release date was sent out in the report however the official Aksys website does promote the game as a Winter 2013 release.

With high stakes, and a frankly bizarre premise, Sorcery Saga: Curse of the Great Curry God looks like a recipe worth playing.
