Futurlab’s latest entry in the Velocity series is titled Velocity 2X and it is heading to PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 4.
Today the developers from Brighton took the stage at Eurogamer Expo 2013 with a presentation titled; From PS Minis to PS4 in 12 Months.
During the presentation the Futurlab team walked the audience through the development history of the Velocity series across PlayStation hardware.
Surprisingly however the team also spent quite a lot of time speaking on the game design of Velocity 2x. It is clear that the developers have heavily focused on platforming mechanics that are both entertaining and rewarding. The team spoke at great length about they wanted the player to experience ability based platforming with a mix of agility from the games shmup roots.
Futurlab also promised an improved visual design, noting incremental changes throughout each entry in the series.
Eurogamer has been kind enough to provide the presentation in it’s entirety for you to enjoy;
Velocity is set to release on PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 4 on November 15 2013
