Tokyo New World Record: Operation Abyss has been announced for PlayStation Vita.

According to Siliconera, players of this new title can create a team of six characters and venture into a dungeon for typical RPG play. Players are also able to leave messages for each other online, the message showing up in the other player’s game. There’s also the Rise & Drop system; as you defeat enemies, the Encounter Gauge fills up, drawing stronger enemies who drop better items.

Tokyo New World Record: Operation Abyss takes place in the same world as another one of Experience’s dungeon-crawler RPGs; Labyrinth Cross Blood Infinity – and will have Yen Oxiji and Tetsu Kurosawa involved in character design. Early buyers will get a New EX Group Welcome Pack and fans that purchased Labyrinth Cross Blood Infinity will get a special item.

The game is scheduled to be released on January 23rd in Japan, published by Cyberfront.

That rise & Drop system sounds interesting. Seems like something that could be utilized in more games, if you ask me. I typically don’t go for FP-RPG’s, but as long as they’re fun and accessible, I’ll give any game a shot.
