With great power comes … a heck of a lot of fun, or so it seems when we look at how the villains in the world of Marvel use their powers. These nefarious super men and women will be surprisingly not led by Loki, but by everyone’s favorite malevolent mobile ruler MODOK when they invade LEGO Marvel Super Heroes later this month.

Doctor Doom is scouring the planet looking for the cosmic Lego bricks from the Silver Surfer’s board and enlists the help of A.I.M., who supply him with a purpose-built ship, the Doom Tanker. This navigates the seas looking for bricks and is crewed by A.I.M. Goons under the jurisdiction of MODOK. So as the player is tracking the cosmic Lego bricks – when they least expect it – MODOK turns up to rain on their parade. As sinister as ever, MODOK assaults the player and tries to slow them down allowing Doctor Doom to escape in the S.H.I.E.L.D. Research Submarine.” – said the game’s Director Arthur Parsons.

The reveal was not isolated to MODOK alone. Many of the Marvel Universe’s most famous baddies have been revealed via a new promotional villains poster. Visible in the image are Abomination, Bullseye, Doctor Doom, Doctor Octopus, Green Goblin, Kingpin, Loki, Magneto, MODOK, Mystique; and Venom.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes will be available on Vita in North America on October 22, 2013.

I’m more than ready to be disappointed by the Vita release.

Especially if it manages to be a port of the 3DS version.
