NIS America have just released a bunch of new screenshots and character art for Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc on PlayStation Vita.  The game originally appeared on the PSP way back in 2010, but is in the process of being recreated for PlayStation Vita.  Gameplay wise Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc is based around investigation mysterious occurrences, not unlike the Ace Attorney series.

“Hope’s Peak Academy is home to Japan’s best and brightest high school students—the beacons of hope for the future. But that hope suddenly dies when Makoto Naegi and his classmates find themselves imprisoned in the school, cut off from the outside world and subject to the whims of a strange, murderous little bear named Monokuma. He pits the students against each other, promising freedom to anyone who can murder a fellow classmate and get away with it. It’s up to you to find out who Monokuma really is, and why you’ve been taken from the world you once knew. But be careful what you wish for—sometimes there’s nothing more deadly than the truth…”

Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc has become a sort of phenomenon in Japan, spawning sequels, mobile ports, light novels, animes, as well as a manga. However this is not the first appearance of Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc on PlayStation Vita, as both it and its sequel (Super Danganronpa 2: Sayonara Zetsubō Gakuen) were released as a compilation pack in Japan earlier this month.

Check out some screenshots below of the North American remake of Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc which is set for release in early 2014:

In one of the pictures, a fat guy who looks like a humanized teddy bear (probably monobear in some sort of guise, or a red herring) says: Freindship… penetrates? Sold.
