In spite of Insomniac’s best efforts more and more information about a PlayStation Vita version of Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus seems to leak out. First there was a listing for the PS Vita version of the title by Newegg, then a rating by the ESRB, and then a leak through a (questionable) source which came with a fair share of controversy. Well guess what? There is more.

A savvy Reddit user posted a trophy listing for Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus which displays a PlayStation Vita tag along side the (intended) PlayStation 3 marker. Moreover the very same user later added that through some sleuthing about in the Disc Benefits,  it seems that the game was intended to take advantage of the ever-popular cross-buy functionality.

As per usual none of this can be deemed official, but it is admittedly hard to ignore the sheer amount of information to the contrary.

    Wait…Quest for Booty?

I am in the camp that I think there IS a version of Into the Nexus being developed for the Vita but that Cross-Buy screen has to be fake. Why would they release Quest for Booty on the Vita? I mean, it’s the middle title in a trilogy not otherwise available on the system.

It IS a great game but…I don’t see any logic in THAT being the one that they choose to re-release on Vita (unless it’s a size issue–it WAS the smallest of the Future trilogy).

I didn’t notice that until I read your comment! Insane – I think it shows that all of these “evidence” screenshots can easily be doctored. What’s to say someone didn’t C&P the PSV from another game to Nexus?

Already know we’ll be seeing this game on Vita. /yawn

If only you knew when it will release… hehe I’ll only pick this game for the Vita 🙂

I’m not getting my hopes up. I’m NOT getting my hopes up!!

    (reads article…..)

DAMN…. my hopes are now officially up! : )

I think they are really worried about getting it to run – as it’s already missed its release date they are likely having problems. Perhaps their engine just doesn’t work properly on Vita? If they think it’s going to be a long, long time before it’s in a releasable 20fps state (which is probably what it will end up as!) i’m not surprised they want to keep it under their belts for now.
“Can we see some footage?” “ermm……no.”

I hope it’s being handled in house by Insomniac. No one wants another QForce style port.

I’m not sure if this has been mentioned or not, but it would appear that there’s a version of the UK trailer that has an “Also Available On PS Vita” note at the end of it: .

If we haven’t heard anything by January I would say give up all hope as it’s original release date was Nov 6th it seems.

It seems I’m a little late on this article but I’m commenting anyways. The Cross-Buy thingie is definitive, but having a PSVita sign in its trophy list doesn’t mean anything, I mean, the Turbo videogame (the movie tie-in of the film) had also a PSVita next to PS3 in its trophy list, but it wasn’t ever released for Vita, and the Vita version of Lego Marvel has PS3 next to the Vita sign in its trophy list, With that I’m saying is that a sign on its trophy list means nothing if the game is not ever hitting the Vita (which I hope it does)..

    • JonofPDX

But the cross-buy isn’t even for this game…

      That has to be fake.

      • Pata

Unless Insomniac and/or Sony announce the game officially you have to take all of this as rumours. Plus, it could be a mistake in Sony’s part (putting the wrong name), I don’t really know.

        • JonofPDX

Eh–maybe. But it would be a weird mistake as it would have had to be made by someone who took the time to get the correct copy year in the trademarking.

Personally, I’m of the opinion the game exists but in largely the same technical state as Full Frontal Assault. Sony’s deciding what it wants to do from there–continue dev in hopes of a better product, cut losses and kill the product or–God forbid–release as is.

I’d love to play it if it does come out. C’mon, Insomniac! Work your magic!
