Tyler Olthoff is a 24 year old who has been gaming since he can remember. In love with almost all types of games, the only type he can't stand (and that's probably because he sucks at it) is fighting games. His favorite genres would have to be shooters, RPGs, and adventure games. He owns almost every new system out there including PS4, PS3, XB1, PSVita and the 3DS, but barely plays any of them as it's mainly his good old Vita getting the attention!

Still going strong! I have a podcast question for you: Do you think the Vita is failing in its potential as a portable First Person Shooter machine? The PSP was often criticized for having only one control stick, making the idea of good shooters on it somewhat impractical. Now the Vita is out, it’s amazing, has two sticks and two touch interfaces, but only Killzone: Mercenary really grabs the bull by the horns. We’re otherwise left with Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified, Resistance: Burning Skies, and awkwardly remapping Star Wars Battlefront 2. Looking through the list of upcoming games, I don’t seem to see any FPS titles. What are your thoughts on why FPS seems to be such a neglected genre on device that is otherwise perfectly suited for it?

On a slightly unrelated note: Does SoundCloud only allow one active podcast episode at a time? I was trying to catch up on last week’s episode, and got a 404 error on it. I did find it on the Vita Cast page as a download, but I was a little confused at first to find a different layout there from what the usual podcast pages look like, like here. I think having The Vita Cast link to the podcast category of your features/blog, so it only shows pages like this, might be better there. Just a thought.
