An update for the treasure-focused platformer Spelunky is now available and it brings with it a host of tweaks and additions, including the Daily Challenge mode, which was at one point a PC-exclusive.

Though news of the mode’s inclusion was delivered today by developer Derek Yu of Mossmouth, the early word about Daily Challenges migrating to Vita came nearly a month ago by PlayStation’s very own Khalifa of Vita; Shahid Kamah Ahmad.

“When Blit heard about this new mode, they couldn’t wait to implement it on PSN. That’s one of the great things about working with them — they love their work and relish the technical challenges of doing an awesome port. It’s right in line with the spirit of Spelunky and the spirit of the Daily, which, as you may have guessed, you can now play on PSN as part of this update.” said Derek Yu on the Official PlayStation Blog.

The update also addresses numerous bugs and issues with the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita versions of the game, including slowdown and erroneous trophy barriers.
