Today Warner Bros. confirmed rumours that a new LEGO game based on the movie version of The Hobbit is being worked on by Travellers Tales.

Covering the first two films in the Hobbit trilogy (There and Back Again and The Desolation of Smaug), LEGO: The Hobbit will invite players to take the same journey as characters from the movie, venturing to the former dwarven stronghold of Erebor (the Lonely Mountain) from Hobbiton and hitting all the major stops on the way.

As with most LEGO games, players will solve puzzles, partake in quests, gather loot and battle with enemies on the road to their destination – getting the best of both worlds from this LEGO and The Hobbit mash-up.

LEGO: The Hobbit will be arriving in 2014 across all PlayStation platforms, including the Vita.

I will take a guess and say that it will be a port of the 3DS version. Once again.

As long as it includes a 15 minute dwarf singing section, I’m happy.

Just want to point out, the article says: “Covering the first two films in the Hobbit trilogy (There and Back Again and The Desolation of Smaug)”. Shouldn’t that be: (An Unexpected Journey and The Desolation of Smaug)?
