We’ve got news hot off the presses for Sword Art Online’s next game venture – some good news, and some bad.
Personally, I like to get the bad news out of the way first so here goes; Hollow Fragment will not have online multiplayer and is only set to have ad-hoc functionality (the horror!). What a shame that a game with so much MMORPG potential has fallen into Japan’s ad-hoc black hole.
The good news however comes in the character customization options. For all you players out there that hate Kirito (or just want a different look), you’re in luck – Siliconera is reporting that you can change his face, hairstyle, voice and more. So if you somehow manage to get an ad-hoc game you won’t be looking at a bunch of other “yous” in co-op.
The post at Siliconera also gives the new mystery heroine’s name; Philia – and notes that in addition to Philia and Asuna, there will be other partners you’ll get to team up with.
That’s all we’ve got for now, but stay tuned for more Sword Art Online news as we approach next year’s release.
