Sony is calling developers to send in their applications to try their hand at creating PlayStation Vita exclusive content by way of Unity development for PlayStation Mobile. The purpose of the Unity beta test is to help iron out any potential issues in relation to development for PS Mobile.

Unity is a powerful creation tool-set for developers that efficient, approachable, and affordable. However the main draw of the engine is that it offers a great deal of opportunity to creators; regardless of scale.

The version offered to applicants will not be the final version of the tool, and all creations via the Beta are strictly for research purposes and will not be sold on the PlayStation Store. Furthermore testing period will be held ahead of the official SDK release of “Unity for PSM” and will begin in February of 2014.

Although no official dates have been confirmed just yet, testers will be invited to an exclusive forum where they will be notified as details are released.

This could mean some 3D unity shooters for the PS Vita maybe???

You forgot 8-bit, so it could mean 8-bit 3D unity shooters because that’s about 95% of the PSM games.
