Ready your Vitas guys, this March we all go back to some X’s.

The Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD remasters are now set to release on the Vita alongside the PS3 versions in North America, securing a March 18th release date. It will support cross-save and retail for $39.99 in the US and Canada.

The combo pack will be available as a download on PlayStation Store, but if you prefer a physical copy you can buy Final Fantasy X at retail and you get a voucher in the box to download X-2. Both games are at the upper limit of the PSVita game cart size, clocking in at ~3.5 GB each.

Only three months, guys. 😉

  • I am definitely looking forward to this. My most anticipated Vita title(s). Planning to write about each of the other games available on the system periodically before then. Lots of work to be done.

Soooo 40 for both games? If so I’m in

If the wording is to be believed; yes.

  • Ahh yah!

Great news and an even better discount. My only worry is that X-2 will be a monstrously-sized download.

    • Michael Barron

Agreed. Surely they could sell two carts? I would pay more if it meant saving some of my precious, precious memory card space.

  • Lester Paredes

Awesome! Finally, a solid release date. And, why couldn’t they just put in two carts? There are multiple DVD’s and blurays, so why not cartridges?

Really looking forward to this! X was easily one of the most enjoyable FF games for me! Since x2 seems to be digital-only, I might just go digital with x as well.

Great news! So afraid it will be postponed indefinitely when only PS3 version date was announced back then.

I love my Vita, but I think I will be getting the PS3 version of this. It’s a bit prettier and I honestly already have a pretty decent Vita backlog to work through. Plus, as I tend to play my Vita on my lunch break or on the bus, I wouldn’t want to be interrupted during some of those great scenes near the end of X.
