After a week of riddles regarding LittleBigPlanet, nearly all has been revealed about the upcoming DC Comics DLC that hit the internet in a flash – and for Vita fans some of the news is sure to be as double-edged as one of Deathstroke’s swords.

Let’s start with the Batman before we address The Joker.

Among the rather lengthy list of “Super” additions brought forth by the DC Comics Premium Level Pack will be:

  • The Hero Cape – which allows Sackpeople to glide with the grace of a hero.
  • The Memoriser – A tool that when added to a created level allows for players to save their progress.
  • Wall Jumping – which comes by way of the Wall Jump Surface Material and the Wall Jump Material Tweaker which when infused by creators will give players the freedom to do their very best Batman impression.
  • Much More – such as a host of new Materials, Music, Decorations, Objects and a new Background will also be available.

If you think that’s a huge list of content, well there’s more – apart from all the goodies found in the DC Comics Premium Level Pack there will also be Four DC Comics Costume Packs available, brand-new Trophies and even two Bonus Costumes.

While these items are sure to be sold separately, for the very first time a LittleBigPlanet Season Pass will be available.

The Season Pass will cost £19.99/€24.99 and will include the DC Comics Premium Level Pack for LittleBigPlanet 2 (and the Cheetah and Cyborg costumes that are exclusively available with the pack), all Four of the DC Comics Costume Packs and the DC Comics Premium Level Pack for LittleBigPlanetVita (and an exclusive costume that will only be available with this level pack).

The DC Comics Premium Level Pack and the first Costume Pack will go live for LittleBigPlanet 2 as soon as the PlayStation Store updates this week, however owners of LittleBigPlanet Vita will have to wait until 2014 to get their gloves on the Level Pack.

Certainly Vita owners are sure to be disappointed by this delay, but looking back at the ambiguity of the initial teasers – the fact that they will hit Sony’s next-generation portable at all is something that should be celebrated.

    Wrong date.

Not sure what you’re referring to but Steven Isbell (LittleBigPlanet Community Co-ordinator) lists the packs as coming to LBP2 “when the PlayStation Store updates” and Vita “next year” .

It says published on December 17, or in what time zone are you guys?

I’m based in Eastern Standard Time (GMT-5)

2014? That kind of sucks. The season pass is tempting though. Now that I’m playing both LPB2 & LBPV, I might have to pick it up.
