Developer Four Door Lemon has announced that they will be taking on the development of Joe Danger and Joe Danger 2: The Movie for PlayStation Vita.
The British studio recently contributed to the development of games such as New Star Soccer and the HD remake of Oddworld: Munch’s Odddysee for PlayStation 3. Furthermore they have also had a track record of developing games for PlayStation Vita, including the AR titles Table Mini Golf and Table Ice Hockey.
While Four Door Lemon may be handling Joe Danger’s PlayStation Vita’s appearances, they are doing so with the utmost respect and are closely collaborating with both series creators Hello Games and Sony to deliver not only a faithful experience, but perhaps even some new things along the way.
“Joe Danger is incredibly precious to us, and there are very few people we’d trust with our baby, Simon and his team at Four Door Lemon have a well proven track record, especially on the PlayStation platform.” said Hello Games founder Sean Murray. “This is a great example of UK indie developers working together, helping each other to build something fantastic. It’s an ideal fit!” he concluded.
While it’s clear that Hello Games are confident in handing their baby over, the excitement of Four Door Lemon to be involved with the project is just as evident.
“We’re big fans of Joe Danger and Hello Games and having the opportunity to bring our favourite daredevil to the Vita was a dream come true for us,” said Four Door Lemon’s founder Simon Barratt. “I have been hoping Sean would ask us to bring Joe to the Vita for a long time now as the blend of classic skill-based gameplay and humour is a perfect fit for the device. We can’t wait for fans to be able to experience the Danger on the go!” he proclaimed.
Joe Danger will crash onto PlayStation Vita in Q2 2014.
