North Americans can currently grab Tearaway at a stealth discount of $17.99 on the PlayStation Network Store.

Tearaway

If you haven’t already picked it up and are located in either Canada or the US (or are using an account from these areas) now’s the time. $17.99 is a hell of a deal for what’s easily one of the best platform exclusives the Vita has to offer.

The sale only lasts ’til the end of the weekend, so make sure to grab it quick!

Update: It turns out that this is actually part of a flash sale – Batman Arkham Origins: Blackgate is on sale for $19.99 and The Amazing Spider-Man is on for $35.99 as well.

Too bad I already own all the Vita games on sale. CURSE MY DAY ONE TENDENCIES!

I just want to insert the obligatory: “Meanwhile in Europe…”

You get better PS Plus games for free and you’ve had the 12 days of Christmas sales.

Haha. I think both sides have very different “plusses” in their plus subscriptions, often taking opposite positions from each other. Neither is better overall, though in some categories one or the other is a clear winner.

Isn’t Tearaway budget priced in Europe anyway? I remember reading that and being sad that I had to pay $40 for my copy.

            It’s £19.99/€24.99 ($32.67/$34.18 USD) there. That’s not very budget priced :/

          • Lester Paredes

But I thought games debuted at price points much higher there… After conversion rates (and the crappy value of the American Dollar in comparison), of course there’s going to be a difference. Especially since a pound is worth $1.63 currently. Was it 19.99 pounds for pre-orders only?http://thevitalounge.net/tearaway-bundles-available-for-pre-order-in-eu/

After all, Americans always pay less (in comparison) to what Europeans (at least mainland EU, not UK) pay for our new releases.
And Kyle, 25€ could be considered as a budget price here, given new Vita games cost here 30-40€, and PS3 games 45-55€ (plus, do the math and see how we end paying more than America, so I really wouldn’t complain).

Thanks for writing this article, i picked it up the moment i saw this and i’m glad i did

You’re very welcome, I’m glad you’re enjoying it!

These huge sales this early on isn’t a great think, in my opinion. People who bought at launch are mad that it’s half off less than a month later. Hell, I bought it for $20 a week ago and already feel cheated. What’s my incentive to buy on launch day if these big sales are going to happen this soon?
