Sony Computer Entertainment let loose both information and screens from the upcoming Japanese Vita exclusive Freedom Wars.

The screens introduce use to Natalia, nicknamed “9.” She’s the Captain of the Social Committee of the Security Agency 35 of the Social Defense Group (say that 10x fast…). Natalia’s in charge of the prisoners; taking on a strict outward personality to disguise her inner emotions from those close to her.

We also learn that in some locations (like the desert) there are no buildings, so players will be forced to fight face to face with the abductors – without the maneuverability provided by their thorns. Fighting those abductors is a necessary evil due to the fact they like to capture humans in their storage areas, some having up to two humans held within.

Here’s some screens;

All this can be yours to explore when Freedom Wars releases in Japan later this year.

    But why are they stealing humans… that’s the question. I sure hope they don’t cop out on telling an interesting story.

      the year is 102013, my bet we are going to play a reverse pokemon in this game. “Gotta release them all, Freedom Wars!”

        Is it bad that when I read that, my brain sang it just like in the original Pokemon cartoon?

  • I just want news on a western release! This game looks awesome! Day one for me if it comes here. I like the new environment changes how you play 🙂
