Sega has released the latest trailer for the upcoming spin-off entry in the popular Yakuza franchise, Yakuza Ishin.

The video follows Producer Masayoshi Yokoyama, who explains the PlayStation Vita cross-play features that will be available including a cooking mini-game, gambling, dungeon battles, gardening and more.

These features will be available via the free PS Vita app, which allows players to take their progress on the go by using items and in-game currency earned in the main game.

Yakuza Ishin is scheduled for a Japanese release of February 22nd, for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3.

Oh. And here i thought that it was a full game, not a companion app for when you’re away from your console.

I thought there was something fishy about the announcement. They seemed to imply things without saying them outright with the intention of promising the full game but being able to say later “no we didn’t actually say that.”
