Both Best Buy and Play-Asia have recently posted listings for a previously unannounced ‘Gold Wireless Headset’. This headset has been designed with the PS4 in mind, but is also compatible with the PlayStation Vita.

The headset looks to have been designed in a similar style to the PS3 Wireless Stereo Headset with a distinct black and blue PS4 theme to this revised edition and is described as ‘The Gold Wireless Stereo Headset delivers amazing depth and audio clarity, elevating your gaming experience with customizable game modes created by developers exclusively for PlayStation®. This is how games were made to sound‘.  As with the Pulse headset and the Wireless Stereo headset before it, this new addition has a noise cancelling microphone and supports 7.1 virtual surround sound. The headset is listed to include a 3.5mm audio cable to enable use with the PS Vita.

Play-Asia have the headset priced at $129.99 which is similar to that of previous iterations although the January release date does look to be just a place holder until an official release is announced.

Too bad you can’t connect it wireless with your Vita via bluetooth…

    • schrodinger_cat

Why would you do that? To drain battery life?

Want an update for my old headset not a new headset!

From what we know, the update (Firmware 1.6) that will allow for the new headset to work will also bring compatability for existing headsets. The sooner this is released then the sooner we will have this.
