WB Games has released a launch trailer for their film tie-in title, The LEGO Movie Videogame.

This latest licensed adaptation of the LEGO videogame franchise by Traveller’s Tales follows the much anticipated film of the same name, which also released today. Players have the ability to play as over 90 unique characters, including the Dark Knight aka Batman himself.

The LEGO Movie Videogame is available today on a multitude of platforms, including PlayStation Vita.

I’m so excited for the movie. Can’t wait to go see it. I’m sure the console game will be fun if you like the Lego games, but will probably do little to sway you if you don’t. Also, the Vita will be saddled with a lackluster port of the 3DS version that no one will want to bother with until it drops to $20 or less.

A 3DS port sounds brilliant compared to an iPad port.

Are you kidding me? Jet Pack Joyride, Nun Attack, and Age of Zombies were all great games for what they were and were all ports from Android/iPod/Pad. Those games weren’t a substitute for a bigger and better game on console or PC though, so there was nothing to compare/contrast to. This, however is a travesty, since a 3DS port is just short-changing the Vita. Especially since Lego Batman made the jump to the PSP practically identical to the PS2 version. I wouldn’t mind if the game they ported over was Good or great or awesome, even, (like they did with GTA Chinatown Wars), but this is a cop out, through and through.

Don’t hold your hopes for this one as it will sadly be just like marvel superheroes. If you look up the trophy list you’ll quickly find a trophy for finishing level within certain time just like marvel’s :

I had this game pre-ordered in a Canadian site and thank god I noticed that in time before they started to process my order and cancelled it straight away.

I wouldn’t pay $10 for the game, hell I have marvel’s offered to me and refused. Someone was giving it free and I spared that poor soul’s money.

That’s really a shame what TT’s been doing with the PS Vita LEGO games lately. I mean Legends of Chima was really awesome and then this timed 1min levels crap *sigh*

Guess no more ps vita lego games for me now. Stopped buying ps3 games for over 6 months now because at some point soon I’ll be getting a ps4 and will get those lego’s for it, probably at half the price they are now. Their loss.

It’s official, I read a “first opinion” on a forum and the guy just said it’s just like Marvel Superheroes. Too bad, no buy from me. I might have it when I get a ps4, which won’t happen soon anyway because there aren’t many games out I’m interested in so it would be stupid buy a console over one or two games and then have it sit there like paper weight.

Shame they are giving us the crappy iPad version again rather than putting the work in and releasing a proper game. If they released 1 proper, ported specifically for Vita version then we would all buy and it would surely be worth the extra porting work in sales.
