XSEED has just announced the release date for the upcoming Ragnarok Odyssey Ace.

Ragnarok Odyssey Ace is an enhanced version of 2012’s Ragnarok Odyssey. It features new locations such as the “Tower of Yggdrassil” (a dungeon that changes upon entry), an “Ace skill” system that enables players to unlock new moves, the ability to hire up to two of a dozen AI mercenaries, new enemies, items and bosses.

Owners of the original Ragnarok Odyssey will be able to transfer their character’s name, face, job class, weapon cards and monster cards to the new version, though clothing will not be making the leap. They are also including support for Ragnarok Odyssey’s DLC, so any DLC previously purchased will be available for re-download free of charge.

The Vita version of the game will cost $39.99 at retail and $34.99 digital when it releases April 1st, though it’s of note that all Vita retail launch units will come with a bonus soundtrack CD – so if you’re into that sort of think it might be worth the $5 (not to mention the savings on your memory card).

Only an (April) Fool wouldn’t get the physical copy, what with that CD and all!
