Indie developer 17-BIT has revealed that they will be bringing the space-shooter Galak-Z to PlayStation Vita, in addition to PlayStation 4.

Originally announced in the Summer of 2013, Galak-Z is a proceedurally-generated roguelike shooter that incorporates elements of other genre titles such as Spelunky and Don’t Starve.

While Galak-Z does in fact call upon design choices found in roguelikes, shooting and a sense of adventure are also at the core of the 1970’s sci-fi anime inspired title, a package which the developers feel will fit PlayStation Vita naturally.

Spelunky is also great at giving satisfying play sessions of anywhere from three minutes to three hours.” explained Producer Raj Joshi on the Official PlayStation Blog“The union of the roguelike structure and the pick-up-and-play nature of a handheld resonated with us. It makes us even more excited to get Galak-Z on the go.”

Look for Galak-Z to blast its way onto PlayStation Vita later this year.
