SCE Santa Monica Studio has once again updated fans regarding the current status of their much anticipated patch for PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale.

Community Strategist Andy Kaufman (Tank) returned to the Official PlayStation Community Forum today to say that the much delayed update near completion and go live sometime later this week.

“It’s not 100% final yet but this week that is the goal, to finalize the balance changes once and for all.” explained Kaufman to the community.

Another interesting development is that six unnamed members of the local Los Angeles fighting game community were brought in for a second time for balance testing. Kaufman would not identify whom exactly these testers were, only going so far as to say that they “know this community inside-out” and to give the m the enigmatic title of the “Mystery 6”.

Lastly the Community Strategist would go on to preview the free PSN avatars based upon the brawler, offering up an early look one based upon Sir Daniel.

No release date or timeframe has been announced for the avatars.

I¿This game would have been the best with the correct support, not the suport of Santa Monica of curse, maybe with SuperBoth this game was all right.

Im all for character balance BUT come on, at least fix the networking :C

Yay! Character balance! I actually haven’t had many network problems since jumping back into the game. sure, the occasional desync, but otherwise smooth. Thankfully, that glitch where you’re randomly assigned a character you didn’t choose seems to be gone! That was the worst.

If only the avatars will be added as a avatar in the profile settings section on the Vita, or if only they added support for downloadable avatars…
