News from the Dengeki Games Festival has revealed that not only can you hold hands with the female characters, but the male ones too.
Speaking to an audience at the annual game festival, Bandai Namco producer Futami revealed that not only will you be able to get close with the female characters, but “you’ll also be able to hold hands and more with male characters” as well, adding that it’s all part of “a manly friendship”.
Whether it’s something you’d do or something you’d avoid, it must be said that it’s nice to see the gaming industry giving those who embrace that sort of choice the option. Many games are very conservative when it comes to male relationships, and for Bandai Namco to embrace them in such a popular title is an awesome step forward for the industry as a whole.
Speaking of relationships though, it’s not all a bunch of dudes holding hands, as they’ve also revealed you’ll be able to participate in “pillow talk” with love interests (check out some bed-time shots below). It’s unclear if this event extends to the guys in the game as well, though I suppose it’d only be fair to include that as well given the other inclusions I’ve just mentioned.
Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment is set to hit Japanese Vitas April 24th, while Tyler and I are still praying for that localization announcement (damnit Bandai Namco – c’mon!?! Please?!? With cherries on top!)
