Giants Software has revealed the release date for the second iteration of Farming Simulator on Vita.

Farming Simulator 2014 is yet another mobile port, drawing from the iOS/Android versions of the game instead of the PC version – however this one will actually see a retail release. Improvements to the mobile port include a multiplayer mode, updated graphics and the inclusion of animals, but the developer has told PushSquare that the Vita version will have even more features come launch.

Will the Vita version of the title be worthy of its possibly hefty price point (£26.86, according to an unconfirmed Amazon listing)?

Only time and some hands-on will tell – so keep tuned to TVL and we’ll let you know the skinny.

    “of its hefty price point?”
    For those not clicking on the source link, the mentioned price point is £26.86, with the mobile version being £2.20.

    *hint* Include it in the article *hint*

      The mobile version is like a lite version of the full title and is missing most of the features. When I reviewed Farming Simulator last year, that was the mobile version. This years is a port of the PC/PS3/XBOX 360 release, hense the higher price.

        This year’s release on the Vita is still based on the mobile version. It’s mentioned in both this post and the source post;
        “Farming Simulator 2014 is yet another mobile port, drawing from the iOS/Android versions of the game instead of the PC version” (TVL)
        “(…) but it will still be based upon this year’s iOS and Android outings.” (Push Square)

          My apologies for not reading the article first. When it was first announced the article I originally read implied a full console port. Have edited 🙂

      I don’t believe the price has actually been confirmed at this point; the price listed is from Amazon which isn’t always the most reliable when it comes to these things 😉

    Day 1 purchase “said no one ever!”

    • To be fair, Jon found the release from last year quite enjoyable to play.

        It was fun for quite a few hours. Rather relaxing. It’s hard to explain without playing. I have to admit I’m intrigued.

        Edit: it’s another mobile port at that price. Ouch.

      I cannot wait to get my tractor on!

    As a collector of retail Vita games this is one of those games that the boxed copy should be a rarity in the future as it will have (I expect) very low sales.

      I’m the same, trying to buy any games I think will dry up quickly day 1, I really don’t see this getting a huge Vita press, especially for the UK. It’s looking like it’ll be £20-25 on release which isn’t too bad for a physical release.
