It appears that Guerrilla Cambridge‘s long awaited Botzone mode for FPS Killzone: Mercenary is days away from a release.

Laura Dilloway, Senior Environment Artist for Guerrilla Cambridge, posted a tweet early Friday morning hinting that a release date had been set for the mode;

This was followed up yesterday when Laura was asked if there was any more news on the Botzone update, to which Laura replied ‘I can’t say much more but honestly it’s a matter of days, not weeks. I imagine there will be an official announcement soon.

Originally pencilled in for an ‘April’ release, these tweets from Laura Dilloway backs up her suggestion a few weeks ago that if possible, Guerilla Cambridge would release the Botzone update sooner than anticipated.

This further cements Guerrilla’s promise to continue supporting Killzone: Mercenary throughout 2014.

Are you looking forward to trying out this new mode? As soon as any official announcement is made concerning the release date, we will be sure to keep you informed here at The Vita Lounge.

  • It sucks that Guerrilla Cambridge was party to all those lay-offs today, they do a hell of a job in supporting their games.

    Botzone is another game?

    • Owen McNamara

It’s a separate section in the menu, I think. Kind of like Combat Training in Call of Duty: Black Ops. Basically gives you local multiplayer with bots.

      • Charlie Large

That’s correct, it will be an add-on for the main game. An offline take on the multiplayer would be an educated guess 🙂

no its a new killzone mode its basically multiplayer but without real people the CPU so you can have some practice at killzone

  • Can’t wait for this. Need more practice after Brad kicked my arse last time.

    • Charlie Large

Tell me about it! Think I may stick to botzone for a while!

  • Lester Paredes

YAY! For those times @ work when they don’t want to let me connect to PSN!

  • Callum Rock

apparently it was suposed to come out to day but theres no update yet

    • Kyle Wakeling

I very highly doubt that, as they don’t generally do updates/DLC on Mondays.
