We get a closer look at Over My Dead Body 2 with new details and screenshots.
Over My Dead Body 2 is set to feature different job classes such as Swordsmen, Archers, Spearmen and Dancers – each of which is uniquely suited to special tasks and weapons. The dungeons are where the demons live, and you’ll should be able to find them near your base of operations. Dungeons will vary by player, their contents (such as dungeon-type, internal structure /layout, and demon-types) will be different each time.
One example of a dungeon style is the colourful 100 Demons Festival, pictured below;
By winning battles in these dungeons you’ll gain a mix of experience points, dedication points (used for the ceremonial inheritance of your offspring with the gods), items, weapons, and armor. At the start of each battle there will be a “War Trophy” slot machine game, where matching three of the same item will result in a win; thus netting you the item you’ve landed on as well as additional experience and dedication points.
Over My Dead Body 2 will be using the “Symbol Encounter” battle system used by many other RPG games. Only running into enemies on the field will initiate a fight, and by sneaking up on them you’ll find yourself in an advantageous position to start an encounter.
You see this crude clock-like figure in the bottom-right corner of some of the screenshots? This is actually called the “Fire Clock” and is designed to tell you how much time goes by, counting in eighths of a month. Once all eight flames have gone out, a full month of in-game time has passed.
Since our protagonists will only have a life-span of two years, it’ll be imperative that you keep a close eye on the clock if you want to manage your time properly; running into a boss battle with no time left would be quite a disaster.
We’ve also got a bunch more screens for you to check out;
Over My Dead Body 2 is currently set to release this Summer in Japan, with no word yet on Western localization.
