Ukrainian developers Beatshapers have just announced that their upcoming Zombie title, Z-Run will be arriving on the Vita this May.

As is normally the case once disaster hits, the world has been overrun by flesh-hungry zombies, and you’re stranded in the middle of a post-apocalyptic city with no way out.¬†Are you going to just stand there and get eaten, and turn into a brainless living dead creature too? Not likely. In Z-Run, you never stand still. Anyone who does, winds up dead. Stay on your toes if you want to stay alive in this thrilling action-runner game.

  • Defend yourself with items you find in the city, and with guns, blades and bats
  • Melee attacks keep you running for longer as you knock zombies off their feet with a slide attack.
  • Be careful not to go too crazy! Every move you make tires you out, and becoming exhausted is a sure way to get eaten.
  • Multiple routes to take as you sprint through the city, and exploration is an essential part of survival during the undead armageddon.

We have added a video to give you an idea of what to expect.

The city is a mess after the zombie apocalypse struck, so you need to be agile as well as fast as you attempt to sprint through the crowds of undead assailants. Falling over an obstacles or running head-long into abandoned cars is a sure way to get caught by the legions of zombies, so you must dodge, sprint slide, jump and dive to find a clear and safe path.

Be careful how much you exert yourself, though. This is a big city, and it’s packed with hungry zombies. Every move you make, punch your throw or guitar you swing will cost you energy. Find yourself exhausted too quickly, and you’ll be an easy meal for the army of undead attackers.

We all love taking out Zombies, right?

We will bring you more news and release date information as soon as we have it, but let us know what you think about Z-Run in the comments.

This is the honestly the worst looking Vita game I think I’ve ever seen, poor graphics and even poorer gameplay and I love zombie games. It looks like one of those free Android/iphone games that I download and then uninstall after 20 seconds. I’m all for more games on the Vita but not like this.

Unfortunately I’m inclined to agree with you. While the graphics could be forgiven given the fact that it’s indie developed, the gameplay looks far too slow to be involving. Who knows, maybe as you upgrade your character things get faster and more exciting? We can hope.

Too bad we cannot get an HD version of Infected.

I think I’ll avoid this one, as I generally avoid endless runners.

After reading the article twice, I took a good look at the…video and when I was done, the only word that I could say was: Really? This game wouldn’t even make it to the top on android platform, what are those guys thinking? They’re going to fail miserably, this is the first time ever that I’m going to say this, but I hope Sony’s Quality Team does not let it go through. ‘Why’ you ask me, and I tell you because no one will ever download it! That’s right, even if this game was for FREE. This is NOT android! Get outta here!

Looks vastly improved considering they have added a campaign and not just endless mode but it looks far from good.
