Taking to the US PlayStation Blog, Gio Corsi finally announced the release date for the highly anticipated Borderlands 2 – May 13th, at least in North America.

“We’ve been working hard to jam pack the endless looting and mayhem of Borderlands 2 into the palm of your hands, and we’re committed to porting over the heart and soul of the console original without compromising the gameplay you know and love. Soon, PS Vita owners can chase down Handsome Jack on the go.”

The game has been ported by Iron Galaxy, and when you buy the game you will also get six elements of the DLC included which are:

  •  Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty
  • Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage
  • The Psycho and Mechromancer Character Classes
  • The Ultimate Vault Hunter’s Upgrade Pack
  • The Collector’s Edition pack.

News on the remaining DLC remains to be seen, but since the game supports cross save with the PS3 version we certainly hope that it will be on the way!

Borderlands2 2

IGN have a great hands on, and we have a few screens in our Borderlands 2 thread on our forum, thanks to Takao.

That’s not all, you can also get Borderlands 2 a week earlier as part of the newly announced PS Vita Slim NA Bundle.

What do you make of the news? And when do you think we will see it in Europe?
