Hotline Miami was one of our favourite indie titles last year, with Tyler saying in his review that it “is one of the best Indie games to make it’s way to our lovely little handheld. With great music that never gets old, and brain busting puzzles. This title deserves your attention.”

Due to the success of the original, a sequel – subtitled “Wrong Number” – is already inbound and will see a Vita release this year as we told you in January, and now we have been treated to a trailer.

It says in our press release that :

“Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number follows the escalating level of violence through multiple factions born from the events of the original game and driven by uncertain motivations. Step into the murderous mind of several distinct characters – each with their own motivations and methods of execution – as storylines intersect and reality slips away into a haze of neon and carnage. Blistering combat, an unmistakable visual style, and a powerfully intense soundtrack will once again push you to the limit and questioning your own thirst for blood.”

The game is set to feature:

  • Twenty brutal chapters twisting through interconnected storylines of many different playable characters, each set against a variety of new locations and time periods.
  • Delve into a world of violence with unique gameplay styles and savage new weapons through different playable characters throughout the game.
  • Hundreds of new sprites and animations in the distinct visual style create lush new areas to clear floor-by-floor and a driving new soundtrack keeps your heart racing and begging for more.

If you are a fan of the first, then you are bound to love the high pressure, tactical and violent sequel. Are you looking forward to this?

We will bring you more news as soon as we have it.

How does hot line Miami compare with other indie titles like retro city rampage? I haven’t played hotline Miami yet so just curious.

It’s a very unique fast paced murderous game that requires a lot of thinking and skill. I highly advise getting this game. It’s very addictive. And well worth the price.
