HB Studios and Bigben Interactive announce that Rugby 15 is coming to PlayStation Vita (among other consoles) this Autumn.

“Aiming to become the new standard for rugby games”, Rugby 15 comes from developer HB Studios – a developer who has has its hand in rugby games before with Rugby World Cup 2011. The game will include the official licences for the TOP 14 and PRO D2 professional French rugby leagues as well as the official teams from the 2014/2015 rugby season.

Alain Falc, CEO of Bigben Interactive (the publisher of the title), had this message to go along with the announcement of Rugby 15;

“With this new sport simulation we are pursuing our strategy of moving upmarket with strong licences and quality partnerships, as with HB Studios. Today it gives us great pleasure to announce the very first rugby game on new generation consoles with the TOP 14 and the PRO D2, thanks to the support of the Ligue Nationale de Rugby (French Rugby Association). We are certain that fans of the sport will enjoy it!”

There are no screenshots or video at this time (not even a promotional logo), however we’ll be sure to keep you apprised as this one develops.

    There was another Rugby game out on the Vita, but I don’t think it ever made it State side. Too bad, I really loved rugby games back in the day.

      Yep it was Jonah Lomu rugby I believe.

        I thought about importing it, but then picked up Rugby 95 for the Sega Genesis instead. It’s almost the same thing, right? 🙂

    Glad to see some variety when it comes to sports games.

    Honestly guys, do you really think Rugby is that popular to make a hit on the PlayStation Vita? I’d call it a suicidal move for Bigben Interactive.

      It’s popular in the Rugby playing countries. Imagine American Football without pauses every 10 seconds and no body armour. It will surely be EU exclusive?
