Updated from original story – PS3 Cross save fix is now expected on Tuesday.

After telling us last week to expect the fix to allow PS3 Borderlands 2 owners to transfer their save to the Vita version, Randy Pitchfork posted the following on Twitter.

We will keep you posted with any news if this changes again.

Original Story:
With many gamers eager to use the much touted PS3/PS Vita cross save function, it was quite disappointing to see that it wasn’t ready for the launch if the Vita version of the game.

Responding to the questions aimed at him on Twitter, Gearbox President Randy Pitchford tweeted the following:

With a lot of people also asking about compatibility between the two versions, seeing as the Vita version is missing some of the DLC – including the level raising pack, Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2 – I asked Gio Corsi about it.

He told me:
If you have PS3 DLC items that aren’t part of Vita package, they won’t be useable in the Vita version. However you won’t lose those items and they will be waiting for you when you return to PS3. Vita level capped at 61 (via DLC), so if you come over from a PS3 as a 72, you will stay a 72 but you won’t gain XP and back to PS3 as 72.”

Does that allay any fears you had about transferring your PS3 save?

I sure hope they offer some patches to fix framerate issues, if they can. Otherwise, I’m enjoying the game very much.

Wouldn’t be surprised if that happens. Would be nice if it should happen before I pick the game up.

Looks like the “crucifixion” of the game I spoke of last week has begun. Really being raked over the coals in reviews at alot of the major gaming sites. To be honest, most of the bad ones seem to be nothing more than mean spirited over exaggeration of it’s shortcomings. The IGN review comes to mind.

Unplayable in spots? Haven’t seen anyone have any probs in all playthroughs I’ve viewed on YouTube. Seems like people are enjoying it you ask me.

Im enjoying it. There are a few frame rate dips here and there but it doesn’t break the game. Otherwise i love it.

Yeah, I know. Everyone claims it’s unplayable, but I’m playing it and am like: did we play the same game? The only place I’ve seen it get a good score was at playstationlifestyle.com, but I felt they gave it too high of a score there.
The same thing with the God of War collection. I can’t imagine and am not looking forward to how they will probably crucify the Sly Collection later this month.
