A sign that retro-styled beat ’em up spin-off Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds is coming West has been found on the German classification board’s website.

Earlier this year Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds came to the Vita in Japan, previously being exclusive to the Xbox Live Arcade. With the original version of the game getting localized, many hoped that the Vita version would receive the same treatment – and that might just be the case.

A rating for Battle Grounds was found on the website for the USK, also known as the German game classification board. This leads us to believe (as these rating usually do) that with a rating comes a release, and with a release comes a localization.

Though this certainly can’t be called a confirmation, let’s file it under “more than likely” – we’ve seen the power of rating boards in predicting releases before.

Keep tuned to TVL for all your Vita news, we’ll be sure to bring you the Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds┬álocalization announcement as soon as they get around to making it čśë

I’m all for 2D brawlers. Dragon’s Crown was the last good one I played. This looks like it could be interesting.

This game looks pretty neat. Last 2D brawler I played was Dragon’s Crown too, and I loved it !

Excellent! I can’t wait for this. Hopefully it’s priced right.

Is it just me or does the long haired charachter kinda remind you of Homura from Madoka Magica for those of you who played the game or watched the anime (if she wore darker clothes)?
