The Invizimals are back and once again battling their way on to the PS Vita. SCEE has just announced that Invizimals: The Resistance will be the follow up to the previous Vita title, Invizimals: The Alliance.

Just when you thought peace had returned to the world, those pesky X-tractor robots are at it again and causing trouble.  It’s up to you to capture and train your Invizimals to protect the Alliance against the new threats that have arisen.

SCEE announced in their press release:

“The world of Invizimals™ The Resistance features a pulse-pounding storyline that immerses players in an epic adventure. The evil X-tractor robots have returned and launched an all-out assault on Alliance headquarters, thrusting players into an undercover mission to save the Invizimals™ from danger and defeat their foes. Storm the interactive battle arenas where geysers erupt without warning and train your critters into champions.

With 150 creatures waiting to be captured, including 90 classic favourites from previous Invizimals™ titles, The Resistance offers players the chance to share their unique Invizimals experiences with fellow collectors through newsfeed and merchandise integration.”

They also shared some new screenshots which show off some of the new characters as well as the augmented reality fighting the Invizimal games are known for.

Very few details have been released and while we don’t know pricing or a release date yet, but it is expected to launch sometime in 2014. Until then, here’s a picture of the cover art to keep you busy.

I really enjoyed Invizimals: The Alliance and you can read my review here. Honestly, for being a game aimed at kids, it really held my attention, and I found myself playing it for hours.

How does this game compare to the Pokemon or Yokai Watch games?

    • vongruetz .

To be honest, I’ve never played those games before, and I’m ashamed to admit that I’ve never played Pokemon. But from what I can gather, a big difference is that Invizimals is more like a real-time fighting game and is not turned based. It also relies heavily on AR, but not during the fights.
I went in thinking it was going to be just ok, but I came away really enjoying it.

I always assumed it was terrible. I might have to try it out one day.

        • vongruetz .

It became strangely addicting for me. I didn’t think it was going to be any good, but I couldn’t stop playing it. Because the battles are only a minute or two in length, it was great for when I was just killing time. Next thing I knew, I was in arms length of getting the platinum (which I finally got). Check out some videos on it to get a good idea of how it plays. There is a lot of content in the game.

    • All I know it it VERY popular in Eur with a large following and TV series coming or already out. I always wanted to get into it though and I’m an older gentleman.

      • nonscpo

WHATTT…There’s a TV series, wow I may have to check it out. Is its Pokémon DUB good or is it Yu-Gi-Oh/4KIDS bad?

        • LOL “4KIDS bad” oh god. I dunno yet I’ma check it out though.

    • JonathanisPrimus

There’s no exploration/roaming around in Invizimals. It’s just scan, capture, fight, and train.

      • nonscpo

Cool thanks what about online or co-op?

        • JonathanisPrimus

It has online multiplayer. I don’t know about co-op.

  • I hear the game is really good, but the augmented reality portions turn some people off.

  • Lester Paredes

Now, if only Invisimals: the Alliance would come out in NA, I could properly anticipate the sequel. I find it disheartening when I hear that a sequel is releasing before getting the game that preceded it. 12/31/14 is still the date for release with Gamestop and Amazon.

Someone thinks that that image from rockstar is photoshoped? or why wouyld they delate that tweet if they where going for shure?

    • JonathanisPrimus

Who said the only thing that was photoshopped was the box art?

  • Anthony Brinklow

I have the game and would vastly prefer it without the AR stuff.

  • Karl Smith

Looks interesting for a follow up. : )
