Toukiden Kiwami (Extreme to us English speakers) gets a bunch of new details on its release; both regarding the demo, and the full game. Oh, and we’ve got a debut trailer too.

Looking to get your Kiwami on? Well, it looks like you won’t have to wait much longer – that is, if you’re cool with just a demo for now. The Japanese PSN will be getting a demo this Thursday (June 5th), allowing you to try out this enhanced release nearly three months before it’s available in its final form.

“But wait,” you might say, “what do you mean that you’ll be able to play the demo three months before the full game? We don’t know when it’s coming out – do we?”

Well, we do now; a release date for the enhanced version of Toukiden has been set for August 28th in Japan, giving you just under three months to save your pennies (or yen, as it may be) for a copy.

As for the returning players (those who also have Toukiden: Age of Demons) don’t delete that save file from the original (and maybe go back and finish it if you haven’t) – a transferred saveĀ file from the original game will unlock Yamato and Horou costumes, while a save with a completed story will net you an angel costume for Kitsune as well.

Sounds like it might just be the Summer of Toukiden in Japan, so in honour of that I’ll leave you with the debut trailer;

Check out the demo for Toukiden Kiwami (Extreme) this Thursday on the Japanese PSN, and make sure to watch for the full release on August 28th.
