Sega has announced that Samurai & Dragonsthe PlayStation Vita’s first free to play game, is coming to an end on July 31st.

Samurai & Dragons was a massively-multiplayer online strategy game that was an adaptation of Kingdom Conquest with the addition of characters such as Sonic, Bayonetta and Akira from Virtua Fighter included. Sega continued to support the game adding characters from Vita games including Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus and The Legend of Heroes series.

Samurai & Dragons has been in action on the Vita for just over two years and has spanned six in-game seasons. Sega’s reason for shutting the game down is so that they can focus their attention on Chain Chronicle Va Vita version of their popular smartphone game.

Wow I never even knew that this game existed.

Shut down before making it out of Japan? Yikes…Still a pretty good run.

Oh, a game that never made it out of Japan gets shut down in favor of another game that won’t make it out of Japan. Yay, Sega!
