Facepalm games’ first title, a futuristic science fiction puzzle-platformer was due to hit PlayStation platforms next week but we have just been told that the game has now been delayed until early August.

Curve Studios, who are porting the game said:
“The Swapper is our first indie title to really push the limits of the PlayStation 3 and Vita. We’ve been able to really throw the power of the PS4 at the game, but we also want to ensure that when the game comes out, it looks great and runs well at 30 FPS on hardware that, in the case of the PlayStation 3, is over seven years old.”

The game will now launch on August 5th in North America and the following day in Europe and is a cross-buy title. Curve have said that gamers will be able to pre-order the game at a discount from early July.

I got some hands-on with The Swapper in May and was really looking forward to the game, but if a little more spit and polish is needed to get the game to the standard needed then that’s fair – we have only been to happy to criticise games that should have had it after all.

What do you make of the news? Were you looking forward to the game?

As long as it’s to improve the game, I’m fine with it.
