Bandai Namco told us today that the highly anticipated Tales of Hearts R will be released on November 11th in North America and November 14th in European/Australasian regions, and will have the original Japanese voice-over and subtitles.

Hideo Baba had the following to say:

“I am very happy to announce Tales of Hearts R’s release date at the biggest Japanese culture event in the West! It is very fitting to do so, as it contains the original Japanese voice overs! I have enjoyed a lot traveling around Europe to promote the Tales of Series in many countries, and it is my pleasure to come back to Japan Expo and celebrate Tales of with the fans. I hope the fans keep enjoying our efforts to constantly translate the game in many languages, and have fun discovering the journey of Kor Meteor, Kohaku Hearts, and all of their friends in Tales of Hearts R. Let’s get excited for the future of Tales of together!”

Tales of Hearts R follows the story of Kor Meteor, a brave young man living in a small village by the sea, as he sharpens his fighting skills under the watchful eye of his grandfather. Impressed with Kor’s growing skill, his grandfather bequeaths to him a special type of weapon known as a Soma. Soma users must possess exceptionally strong Spiria, the source of all life from which the human mind and will are derived.

How excited are you for this one? Are you disappointed that it is just getting subtitled, or do you prefer it this way? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!

Note; Updated to include the North American release date.

      Wish granted; November 11th.

Chalk me up as disappointed, I wouldn’t have minded if it was dual audio, in fact I could celebrate to that. But a Tales title without a dub? Feels like a cheap localization.

    • I’m happy just to get it honestly, cheap? Yes, but I finally get to play it so that’s enough to keep me happy, haha.

  • MarkDG

I love dubs, but honestly, I don’t really care. I get to play a game I never thought I’d play in English, so I can’t complain. I do hate that some people are not getting the game because it isn’t dubbed. That’s just stupid and ruins the chance for a localisation of Tales of Innocence R.

Yay ! Bring on the NA details, next!

    • Kyle Wakeling

Updated to include the NA release date of the 11th 😉

Great news. No dub equals instant buy for me. The only thing most audio localizations are good for is making anime style characters sound like porn-stars / infants with the emotional expressiveness of drowned fish..

Amazon Germany lists it as physical. Preordered and looking forward to it <3!
