Strangely Compelling, a PR and marketing firm, have brought PlayStation Vita title Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds to this year’s Anime Expo ahead of it’s North American release later this Summer.

The side scrolling beat-em up launched for PlayStation Vita in Japan in March and the news comes after the game was spotted on a German classification board’s website back in May.

Let us know in the comments below whether you are looking forward to this title. As soon as we hear a release date we will let you know, but for now, check out the trailer below;

    I haven’t enjoyed side-scrolling beat ’em ups for some years now.

    But this is reminding me a lot of Scott Pilgrim vs. The Word: The Game, which I had an unreasonable amount of fun with. I’ll definitely grab it.

  • I remember hearing about this game in February…was sad it wasn’t coming to the US…but here we are! With all these Vita games coming out, I will finally be able to put my 3DS to rest (until Smash Bros, anyway). =D

    Alright! I was hoping this would come out, but lost hope and moved on after new info about the game dried up. The dream is still alive!

    • Moved on to where? Did you fill the space on your memory card with concrete? 😀

  • I bought this game on the Jap PSN for like $12 when it came out and even though it was in Japanese It was still really fun 🙂 will get it in English if around the same price 🙂

    I’ll wait for a review before considering this game, I do enjoy side scroller beat them ups. However I need to beat the one I’m currently playing first. Bought Senran Kagura Burst at launch and I’m still beating everybody up in that game, surprised by the amount of replayabilty the game had.
