The PS Vita version of Minecraft is only a month away now, and we are struggling to hold our excitement in! With the release so close we are hoping that more information – and a release date – will find its way to us, but we did learn today that the Vita version will support Ad Hoc multiplayer.
On MinecraftForum.net, it was confirmed by the user “padware” who works at 4J studios. He also reaffirmed that all versions will be on the latest title update, but due to the different certification requirements, they may not update at the same time.
“We have added support for Ad Hoc networking, and yes, all platforms will be on the same update.
Due to different submission processes, we won’t know the order that updates will release, but we’re aiming to submit across all platforms at the same time.”
Playing Minecraft with others is incredibly entertaining, and with the portable version being able to link together in this way is bound to be a good thing for Vita sales. Now all we need is a release date, and a bundle!
Anyone else excited or is it just us?
