The team at Dynamighty have announced that their Cold War action-platformer CounterSpy will be releasing in North America on August 19 and in Europe on August 20.

Dynamighty is a team of former LucasArts developers who have teamed up to create their debut title, CounterSpy. Set in a fictional period of the Cold War, the player takes the role as an agent from C.O.U.N.T.E.R, an elite group of heroes whose sole goal is to prevent the world’s superpowers from trying to blow up the moon.

The game is unique in that it is a side-scrolling platformer that converts to a 3D shooter when you dive behind cover. You can take a look at the new trailer to get a good idea of how the action will carry out.

The game will be Cross-Buy and Cross-Save across the PS Vita, PS3, and PS4. And if my eyes don’t deceive me, it looks as though CounterSpy will be fully compatible with Sony’s upcoming PlayStation TV.

CounterSpy will be priced at $14.99/€12.99/£9.99 with a 20% launch discount for PS Plus subscribers. It’s also being featured in the PS Store’s PLAY 2014 promotion, so you can get money back if you also purchase Rogue Legacy, The Swapper, or Hohokum.

Is it true that this game is extremly short? And main “fun” is supposed to be getting better score than other?

    Asking because I don’t know…
