Hohokum, the strangely mellow game from Honeyslug, which is set to release on August 12th, has just released its debut trailer.
This impossible to describe game is truly an experience you have to witness in order to understand. The trailer shows off the beautiful and relaxing world of Hohokum as seen through the eyes of the hermit. The game, which seems both serene and hypnotic, has been much talked about since its announcement in May of last year.
Honeyslug, in collaboration with Sony Santa Monica Studios, have created an enchantingly beautiful game that is reminiscent of games from thatgamecompany such as flOw and Flower. It will be Cross-Buy, so $14.99 will get you a copy for the PS Vita, PS3, and PS4. It will also be part of the PlayStation Store’s PLAY 2014 program along with Rogue Legacy, CounterSpy, and The Swapper. You can enjoy a 20% discount if you pre-order, and purchasing any two games in the program will get you $3 back in store credit. If you purchase any three games you’ll get $6 back, and if you go all in and pick up all four games, you will receive $10 back.
And as an added bonus, if you pre-order you will also be entitled to a Hohokum PS3 static theme as well as a Hohokum themed DLC pack for Sound Shapes.
In the meantime, check out the chill/relaxing new trailer (some might say “chillaxing”… I am not one of those people):
And if you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend you check out the video of Conan O’Brien playing Hohokum at E3 in 2013. Skip to 1:38 to see just the part about the game, but the whole video is definitely worth a watch.
