A bunch of new screenshots have recently been released that introduce us to Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth‘s Eater creature and the mysterious ghost boy character.

The mysterious boy, or the ‘White Ghost Boy’ as he is better known, is rumoured to haunt cyberspace. The ghost boy has been known to erase account data that belongs to those unfortunate enough to meet him. Erasing this data means that the owner of the data can never access EDEN again. At the minute, it is unclear as to who this ghost boy really is!

The Eater is another being that is rumoured to haunt cyberspace, similar to the ghost boy. Not unlike an amoeba, this mysterious life form has been known to suck the data dry from the Digimon and humans that cross its path. Designed by popular cartoonist Ito Ogure, this creature constantly grows and divides and therefore mutiplies its presence in the world.

The screenshots also show off Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth‘s battle system. The game’s combat uses an active turn battle system, where your attacks are laid out in a set order shown on the right of the screen. We are told that it will even be possible to perform combo attacks with fellow Digimon. This depends on whether your Digimon turn order connects and also on your player friendship level being high. With three Digimon on your team, this means that the greatest combo available to you would be a triple-team Digimon attack!

So far Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth is pencilled in for a Japan-only release in 2015. As soon as The Vita Lounge has any further news on this title we will be sure to keep you posted!

For now though, why not check out some of the screens below?
