In a new feature from this weeks Famitsu magazine, SCE Japan’s latest game Freedom Wars has reportedly surpassed 35,000 digital copies sold in Japan.

Combined with the 260,000+ retail copies sold as of last week, Freedom Wars should be at around 300,000 copies sold since it’s June 26th release in Japan.

Freedom Wars is still expected to come to western Vitas this year.

Great, looks like a promising new start for a new IP 🙂

Hmm look this game is currently on a transition, so far it’s *cool*. Once it becomes *promising* somebody at sony will come up and promise it will become available on consoles. It won’t become available on Vita any longer, will become a console exclusive game by then.
Welcome to the vita treatment, by sony.
      ‘greatness awaits’

      • Oh come on, Vita treatment is better than that. Sony will port all the spinoff games from the Vita-original title directly to the Vita! xD

Now that we are getting the retail version i can’t wait for it…anticipation is going to kill me one day 😉

I’m gonna confess, when I first looked at the title of this article, I was like “wait, shouldn’t it be 350K instead of 35K?” but then I spot the ‘digital copies sold’. Not bad at all. I wished it could be as great as Yokai Watch was but still since this Vita game managed to achieve this much that means this game deserves to see a sequel. If only racing/fighting/RPG/simulator games saw this success on Vita…
