Developer Media.Vision have announced that their next RPG, Chaos Rings III, will be released on the PlayStation Vita alongside smart phones.

The Chaos Rings games have previously been primarily released on smartphones and tablets, specifically iOS devices, but the next entry into the series will also release simultaneously for the Vita. Both titles will release on October 16 in Japan.

The Chaos Rings titles have grown steadily, providing richly detailed worlds and epic adventures – all from the comfort of players’ mobile devices. The original Chaos Rings title launched in 2010, with the sequel following in 2012.

The game will release digitally as well as a physical release in Japan, with a special edition available including a card book, musical soundtrack, short story and an art book. No word as yet as to whether we can expect this outside of Japan, but given publisher Square Enix has helped bring the previous titles to devices in the West, it’s looking highly likely.
